ABOUT PICKARD CHINA Pickard China was founded in 1893 by Wilder Austin Pickard, with an eye for the best in American design. Many of its original artists came from the Art Institute of Chicago, and the company was renowned for its hand-painted dessert and tea services. Thanks to a commitment to combining keen design vision with new product development, the company began experimenting with dinnerware in 1930 and inaugurated production in Antioch seven years later. Over the ensuing decades, Pickard has produced china for the White House, the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, Air Force One, Camp David, and all of the U.S. Embassies and Consulates worldwide. Pickard has also created exclusive fine china services for numerous corporations and luxury hotels and restaurants, in addition to partnering with some of the best names in retail.
